Research Centre in Psychology

Psychology at Queen Mary, University of London is envisioned as a natural and experimental science with evolution as the bedrock of what we do. This arises from the simple observation that the brain, the seat of cognition and behaviour, evolved and therefore must reflect facets of evolutionary processes (such as adaptation). This fundamental notion eludes much of modern psychology. Queen Mary boasts world-class research in psychology in comparative cognition and learning, sensory neuroscience, neurobiology and behaviour, vision, and evolution and behaviour based in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (the home school for Psychology). This is augmented by expertise in psycholinguistics, applied psychology (health and organisational) and psychiatry across several Queen Mary departments, centres and institutes. We offer undergraduate degree programmes in Psychology and Biology with Psychology.
